The James Clark Scholarship

James Clark was one of MPPA’s founding fathers back in 1948. He was an active member and mentor to many for over 55 years. Jim taught many classes on photography and the business of photography. He firmly believed in continuing education so we all can remain competitive and competent. A scholarship was established several years ago in Jim’s honor. It is a $500.00 scholarship for attendance to our affiliate school, the New England Institute of Professional Photography (NEIPP). It is administered by Dan Rodrigue (Chairman), Harvey Bell, LeeAnn LaFleur & the current and immediate past presidents. You can apply for this scholarship online here.  The deadline to apply is June 30th of each year.

The Trish Logan Legacy Scholarship

The Trish Logan Legacy Scholarship was established in 2014 by MPPA Board Member Trish Logan as part of her on-going Legacy Project. Logan’s Legacy Projects have included funding and donations to the Maine Cancer Community, the Special Olympics, Project Grad, School Districts and Students throughout the state of Maine and now the Maine Professional Photographers Scholarship Fund.

This scholarship was created by Logan with the idea of paying it forward and supporting fellow MPPA members in their pursuit of continuing education. As a recipient MPPA’s James Clark Scholarship in her first year of membership,  Trish was able to attend the New England Institute for Professional Photography (NEIPP) and see first-hand the importance of supporting an affiliate school in New England. With that in mind, she wished to encourage members already established in business to continue their educational growth as well as challenge them to personally give support to the MPPA Scholarship Fund for future generations.

The Logan Legacy Scholarship is a $500 scholarship to be used for attendance to the New England Institute of Professional Photography (NEIPP). This scholarship may be applied for by any MPPA member that has been in business over five years. Applicants may apply in writing to the MPPA Scholarship Committee’s administrative board, Chairman Dan Rodrigue, Harvey Bell, LeeAnn LaFlueur and the current and immediate past Presidents of the MPPA. You can apply for this scholarship online here. The deadline to apply is June 30th of each year.
